Tips for Maintaining Your Plumbing System

No one likes a faulty plumbing system. No one wants to see a kitchen sink that is unable to drain down all the soap water used to wash the dishes, and no one wants to use a loo that cannot flush properly. A clogged plumbing system can mean a lot of trouble for the people living in the home.

However, a clear plumbing system is easily achievable. All it takes is a bit of patience and good practices to ensure that your pipes will no longer clog in the future. Here are some things that you can do to prevent clogging.
First of all, you should never drain hot cooking oil down the sink. This will only cause the oil to solidify inside the drain pipe and prevent proper drainage of water. One way of disposing oil is by putting it in a jar and chucking it into the bin.
Another thing you can do is to sprinkle about ¼ cup of baking soda into your sink and tub drains. The soda will act as a cheaper alternative to drain openers, made more effective by following it up with enough warm water to get the soda down the drain.
Finally, check the overall water pressure of the house. Make sure that the pipes are not undergoing extreme pressure, and keep it at a safe and manageable level.
